Michael J. Schemenaur
I am a PhD Candidate in the Economics Department at the University of Arizona. My research interests are in health, industrial organization, and labor. My current research focus is on supply side interventions in health care markets. My dissertation considers three separate applications of supply shifts in health care markets associated with kidney failure.

My job market paper investigates the tradeoffs of punitive deterrence policies intended to increase quality. ​ I have received a $8,000 Academic mentorship grant and a $2,500 Fellowship grant from the Institute for Humane Studies for work on my research.

I have taught "Microeconomics of Business Decisions" (ECON 300) and "Introduction to Health Care Economics" (ECON 422) at the University of Arizona.
